looking for a fix for an 06' 23LSV

Recommended Posts

I was told that 06 was the first year they started putting the plastic bin under the center rear seat in the 23LSV's. They didnt do a very good job at fitting it in there because its too small and constantly falls through the big opening. Anyone else have this problem and a possible fix for it????

Maybe you have the wrong plastic bin? The bin on my 2008 fits like a glove. No way it could fall through the opening. Yeah, I know...............different boat. But still. Why not have your dealer look up the dimensions and check that against what you have?

I might have a suggestion for a fix and theoretically it should work. You could unscrew both of the side walls on each side of the Tranny opening and tap them in towards each other like a 1/4" or so on each side. Closing up the opening to the correct size. There are several screws hidden in the carpet one on the back ledge going down through the top and two going through the wall that seperates the passenger area to the cargo area. Then there is also the metal bracket going through the floor but thats easy to see. I will attach a pic I drew on paint that might help you find them. Let me know if this plan works, of course you will probably have to redrill the holes but the carpet should hide the old ones pretty easily.

Well you might want it a little shallow depth wise so the two plastic pieces on the seat have someplace to go otherwise the seat would not fit snugly and would have the potential to fly out on the highway. Whistling.gif (this almost happen to me.) Mine is good side to side but I have a little room front to back but works great.

On ours, we slide the bin all the way forward and center it. Then install the seat, forward edge first and make sure you get the black lugs to hold the bin in. Never had a problem this way.

If you look closely you can see the heads of the screws that I backed out for the pic

The gap up front is where the two blocks slide down in to hold the seat in place
