Ok, I love Malibu and couldnt seeing owning another boat and I also think the 09 VLX is a sweet boat..........but 8 boat of the year awards?

Whats the deal? Does Malibu Own Power Boat MAgazine? Or Is it one of those JD power things where the manufacture has to shell out alot of money to be in the "running"? I know Malibu makes a great boat, but are there no other boats that have been inovative enough to earn a boat of the year title? Is the class for Best boat built by a company starting with the letter "M" and ending with "U"?

Go spend the weekend in the competition boats for the same class and you will know why malibu has got the last 8!!!

I believe it was the 23 LSV in 2008 and the VLX in 2009. I don't know the history prior to that, but based on those two boats, I don't see why anyone would even suspect shenanigans.

The XTI won it a few years back and now it's no longer in production. I think it's a fantastic boat, but the mainstream isn't looking for a 23 foot DD.

I was wondering the same also, I think it's Nautique that has won the JD award for the past decade or something like that..

I believe the VTX got it its debut year in 07, I'm sure the VLX got it another year as well, perhaps 05 or 06?

I dont think they made a "Wakesetter" in 95. Which is why their website only says "8"
