new steering and helm

i went up to the local malibu dealership and told them i needed a new steering cable nad helm for my 95 sunsetter. When i got home to start changing things out i found out that what they gave me was different then what i have. You can click on here to see pics of the new and old cable and adjustable helm. im not sure how i can make the new one work.

Any advise appreciated

I'd ask them how to do it or tell them to get you what you asked for. Are you sure yo need to replace your old one?

I wouldn't try to "make" something work that's the wrong part. At least that's what it sounds like. Go back to the dealer and have them order the correct part. Maybe take the boat so they can see what they are to order.
