Water intrusion

Recommended Posts

During full throttle only I will get water to leak from my dash, and also the right side speedo is all fogged up and suggestions for each, I have not taken apart the dash yet..... I own a 94 echelon.

Thanks

Sounds like a diaphragm went out in your speedo - allowing the water that pressurizes the pitot tube to fill the gauge & leak out of the dash.

When everything is sealed tight, the water pressurizes the air & the speedo converts the air pressure into a MPH reading.

They don't make the Airguide speedos anymore, but you may be able to find one somewhere online.

You can get quite a bit of water into the boat through a leaking speedo pickups.

In the meantime, just flip up the pitot pickup in order to keep your ankle dry...

Has anyone had any success repairing/replacing a diaphram in the old-school Air-Guides? I know these are not supposed to be repairable, but these speedos are like hens-teeth...non-existant.
