Howdy All,

First post here although I have been addicted to this site since my g/f started looking at boats. She brought home a 09 Wakesetter LSV Saturday from Active Water Sports in Oregon City, Or. I always thought that they would let you blow that kind of money really easily! Turns out it was a 2.5 month process to get a boat in the driveway. Turns out for the best though as she was really close to being caught up in the Bridge City mess, infact she had a deposit down when they closed their doors. Good things come to those who wait I guess they say b/c she ended up getting an 09 instead of the 08! Gerry at Active was fabulous and my g/f is super excited to be doing business with great people and a great reputation. In fact I think she got the first Malibu from them!

First day on the water and the wedge quit working, argggg! I was able to get it moving again based on some of the info on here, but now its totally quit and wont go again. Can't tell if its a speedo problem or the actual wedge. Not too big of a deal as it has to go back for 20 hour service and to get the racks and tower lights installed that were not available at the moment and they'll fix it then. What do people do with the bimini and tower lights? Do the lights get mounted on the under side? Bet you can guess what else doesn't work! Thats right the stereo ipod controls. I was starting to have a glimmer of hope as I didn't see nearly as much bi*&hing about the 09's compared to the 08's. Don't think that will be too bad other than the fact that it doesn't work as advertised. In the mean time I just used the FM modulator from my car. I plan on just hooking the ipod directly to the AV jacks on the underneath the steering wheel. I messed around with it quickly but didn't get any sound while in AUX on radio and tried all the jacks. Any ideas? All in all she is super stoked to have her new boat! As am I being lucky enough to have it parked in my driveway!

I always kind of thought why get one of the big boy boats as I'm not a pro wakeboarder and neither is she. One pull behind that thing will tell you why. We are both super stoked on the wake! Ok, long enough first post, I'll try and get some pics up.

It's already worth it! A little frustrating but I've been around boats long enough to realize they can let you down in the worst of times, like losing an engine in 30ft surf! My father was in the Navy for 28 years and I did 4 years in the Coast Guard. We know it will all be resolved soon enough. Hell, its almost been 3 months, what's another 5 days?

Regarding the tower lights, they are mounted on the underside of the forward portion the tower. Keep in mind you'll need to check out Oregon's laws regarding the use of tower lights. Many states prohibit the use of them while underway as it'll blind another driver. They are nice for docking in the dark and those late night slightly illegal runs....:)

Don't have an Ipod so can't help ya there, though you shold just be able to hook it up driectly to the headunit provided it is a model that can control and Ipod.

Not sure I follow what's wrong w/ the wedge. Will it not deploy or retract, keep im mind you need to be moving to retract it.

Many have been pleased with Tower Biminy product. I wouldn't recommend Metcraft.

Congrats on the new ride!

You'll want to read up on the lastest restrictions on the Willammette regarding the use of wake enhancements, to be honest I wouldn't bet on loud music the next target.....

Thanks for all the compliments! So has anyone had any luck getting the Ipod connected via the AUX inputs? Which set of jacks do you use?

Plug it into both the AUX and USB. The USB will provide power to the iPod so it doesn't lost its charge. Use the AUX entirely for audio (set your faceplate to AUX). The only other solution is to get a WS-420 and plug it directly into that. Essentially, it's the same as running AUX off the black box, but without any potential grounding issues.

Congrats on the boat, it's a nice looking boat!! I guess I'm lucky, my Ipod connections work great. My water temp, depth finder, and cruise control are another story.
