Floating Wedge, ballast or both?

Recommended Posts

Brad3607

I bought a 25LSV last summer and we are having a blast surfing behind it, currently using about 2000 lbs of ballast but would like to increase the wave size some more. Which will help more a floating wedge or more ballast? I guess I am asking if a wedge is worth the investment I have also seen an off brand hydrofoil called a Switchblade that looks like it puts out a giant wave, does anyone have any experience with a Switchblade and if so which is better the Wedge or the Switchblade? Any and all replies will be appreciated.

Slip the wedge and get more ballast bags. Here's an example of what more ballast will do that a wedge won't. Read how much weight he's running and copy it, that will get you started then just fine tune it.
