2008 Malibu iRide Ballast

As mentioned in the title, I have a new (just passed 20 hrs) 2008 iRide. The boat has the factory MLS center ballast and manual floating wedge. I have been very happy with the wake so far as I have always had a large group out on the boat.

However, I am interested in adding additional ballast weight for wakeboarding (about 500 lbs but not picky) to the rear locker but am unsure if this is possible. I have been reading through previous posts and some have mentioned reinforcing the floor behind the back seats and have just thrown the bag in there and gone with it. I am really just wondering if a bag that size can be thrown in the rear locker of this boat without any issues. Open to ANY and ALL suggestions.

Thanks Crew!

The Gas tank is back there. There is a potential to crush the tank with too much weight. My locker has a warning sticker on it (Pic posted in one of the threads you probably looked at).

I bought a set of these Side Sack Link with a matching pump. They fill and drain pretty quickly. I put one on each side of the engine box towards the rear bench. Adds about 520 lbs. With the center ballast and the wedge it's a pretty big wake.

I bought a set of the V-Drive sacs for my iRide, specifically for surfing. I believe they are 400 lbs each. They also fit alongside the motor. I actually put them in an "L" with one on the side and one behind the motor. I was all set to do a custom back bench and reinforce the floor for adding the bags above the gas tank, but just haven't had the time this summer. I'm also still holding out hope of replacing the iRide with a VTX.
