Moving Cap Plate

I would like to install a audio control next to the throttle lever, but the capacity plate is there. Can this be moved? It not riveted on appears to be a sticker. I noticed on the newer boats this plate is mounter lower. Would Malibu issue a replacement plate? Or is this something that should not be messed with?

It's your boat man, move that sun of a gun and do your thing.

According to the USCG, capacity plates are only required on boats 20 feet or less. However, some states might require for boats longer than that.

If you want or need that plate, you might be able to get a new one from Malibu. The other option is to get it from the NMMA. here this link
