HEAD GASKETS

Recommended Posts

Hello and thank you in advance for responding! I'm an auto mechanic and my friend is in need of a head gasket replacement on his v-8 Malibu ski boat. In conversations recently I've noticed that there may be "special marine gaskets etc." involved in this tear down. Seems I have no compression on right bank (drivers side) in middle 2 cylinders. All others @ 150 p.s.i. Seems to be a GM 350c.i. w/ individual fuel injectors. It has a 'Malibu" emblem on the intake manifold. Boat seems to be 6-10 yrs old. I'm going to "tear down" this weekend. Wondering about head bolt torques and if I need special gaskets etc. for reinstall. Do I need to note any serial #'s, year of boat, cylinder block #'s. etc. AGAIN - - -THANK YOU FOR YOUR INFORMATION IN RESPONDING. TIM SPAETHE - - [email protected] 07/09/2009

I have nothing more to do, 450rwhp is more than I need. Taking it to the track next week with slicks and we'll see what breaks :)

Standard head gaskets will work just fine, the base engine is a GM crate engine. Torque values are same as SBC.

As long as it a marine gasket :)
