Watersports Video Camera and Mount

It was just brought up in the 2010 thread about video cameras for use in the boat.

I have just discovered the GoPro Camera line.

I am setting up as a dealer/retailer for them, and if any of you would like to get on the first order, let me know. After the first order all orders will be case lots only.

In my opinion unless you go the wearable route (chest mount, wrist mount, or helment mount), the Hero Wide or Motorsports Wide is the best choice. Additional mounts are available in a grab bag or individual specific mounts.

- Modes: v ideo, standard photo, photo every 2 or 5 secs, 3x photo burst sequence, self timer, upside down photo/video flip

- Capacity: 56 minutes video (incl. audio) or 1,945 photos with optional 2GB SD card. 1hr 52min video (incl. audio) with optional 4GB SDHC card—available soon

- It has a smaller recorded image of 512x384, but it's field of view is 170 degrees, which for skiing I think is a big plus.

If you click on the video's you'll see a good idea of how it looks in all sorts of applications..

Email me if you're interested. Do Not PM me.

I'm involved in the motorcycle track day world and the GoPro Hero wide is the industry standard. (Sort of the Honda generators of video cameras) If they can shoot good vid. and survive being velcro'd to a bike doing 100+, they've got me sold.

I haven't used my helmet cam on the water yet, but I do a lot of dirt bike riding on single track trails. My friend let me borrow the gopro, great video, but it was kinda bulky on my helmet and i knocked it off a few times. So I decided to buy the Oregon Scientific AT3K. Same quality video, but much more streamlined design. I do like the wide view that the go pro offers, but not really necessary for what I use it for mostly.

Great product. Here's a couple of my videos from the first day I used it.

(slalom skiing)

Pretty Cool, I would really like to see what it would show if mounted on someones back looking at the path the ski runs as you go through a slalom course. Might be a really good way to show the actual angle you get off a bouy.
