gas coming out the vent while parked

On Monday I was standing by my boat in the driveway when I smelt gas and noticed it had "leaked" out the vent onto the cover and run down the side of the boat and onto the ground? I'm not talking just a few drops, but I would guess more like a few cups. The tank is 3/4 full and my driveway is fairly level, BUT the temperature has been in the 100's lately. When I checked it again yesterday, it was even worst, so I opened the gas cap and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner. What should I do or is this "normal"? I have an 02 23LSV.

I've got the LG50 but on occasion I have the same situation. I try never to fill the boat all the way when I have it out of the water ... (in my driveway) it doesn't help the the rear to the boat is facing downhill and south so it really heats up.

Plus1.gif definitely if the back of the boat is low.. the vent is doing what it is supposed to, you just have to allow the vapor part of the fuel tank go out the vent, vs the liquid part ;)

Luckily it doesn't happen often, usually in the spring when I first pick up the boat ... I try to not put too much gas in it. Then my early season skiing falls through ... and slowly the temps rise as the days go on and before I have the lift in. I'm getting better I promise :)
