Machine wash a bimini top?

The bimini top for my Illusion tower is pretty dirty and I am thinking about putting it in a front loading wash machine on gentle cycle. Is this a bad idea? If so, what would be a better alternative to thoroughly clean it?

I wash my boat cover and would do the same for my bimini.

I've been thinking aout doing the same thing but I'm concerned about what it might do to the durablilty/non-fade characteristics of the Sunbrella material.

wash it on gentle, air dry, treat with 303 afterwards...works great.

I'm pretty sure Edwin means 303 Fabric Guard, not the 303 Aerospace Protectant you use on the vinyl...

I've washed my covers in the past that way with a little Woolite. Makes 'em look good as new. Not sure why you couldn't do the same with a bimini.

Never washed the bimini, but we wash the boot/cover to it after long trips.
