Battery Charger Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good battery charger that I could pick up locally (no mail order)? I have a cheap DiHard one and I think its killing batteries for some reason. I accidentally left my stereo on for 3 days and mu Blue Top is dead as a door nail!

Alot of us like:

Battery Tender

For maintaining a charge ... lot's of people are moving towards "on board chargers".

Battery Tender also make charges.

Lot of options, but you definitely want a Float Charger, not a trickle charger. You can leave it on the battery all the time without risk of overcharging the battery and boiling off the electrolyte. Battery Tender is a good unit, so is any of the models made by Schumacher.

Just went through this..... How many do you have?

If they are DEAD you need to leave the charger on 2 amps for like three days before going any higher.......

Are you batt getting hot to the touch at all?

We just put 4 new ones in and picked up an on-board(Minn Kota MK-440) charger. Works GREAT! They charge and maintain them as long as there plugged in.....

Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger, only heard good things about them. I currently have a Schumacher, but am planning on getting the Tender Plus.
