2007 Wakesetter LSV23 - Depth Finder Not Working

Recommended Posts

All - First post, hoping someone can help me.

When I start up my Malibu Wakesetter LSV (23') the digital Depth, Water and Air Temp gauges calibrate (but no reading - i.e. zero's), then when calibrated the Depth gauge goes away leaving only the Air and Water temp readings. I've checked the wires on the paddle wheel housing and it looks fine, not sure what else to do.

I read the owner's manual which says the Depth finder is a standard feature, so I'm not sure why this isn't working.....

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I learned with my last boat that the Depth Finder is not a Standard and is an Option.. All of the guages have it but you need to buy the Depth Finder Module from your dealer... I had an 07 and it was the same thing.. It is just a plug and play item so you can install yourself..

Hi Guys. Newbie here. I'm in the water today for the first time ever in my 2009 Response Lx and I have exactly the same situation as Wally413 in that after the instrument self-check the depth part of the LCD goes blank. Does anybody know where I should look to see whether I have the sensor and module? I don't want to order parts and then find it's all there but has a bad connection or some other trivial fault.

You need to look to see a module epoxied to the bottom of the hull that looks like a hockey puck with a wire coming off of it. This would be the transponder.

Which bit of floor should I lift to find whether the transponder is fitted? Where would it be in relation to the engine, paddle-wheel and skegs?

Mine is even with the paddle wheel on the opposite side of the keel (center line of the boat).
