Oil Pressure Alarm

Recommended Posts

I had an issue a few weeks ago with 4 beeps that were coming from under the dash. Turns out it was the oil pressure switch. I unplugged the wire going to it but haven't replaced the switch yet (just received the part). Yesterday when first starting to accelerate I was getting an alarm on the display at times. It would say "oil Pressure" and then display a number from 0-17 psi. It happened most of the day. When I look at the oil pressure gage I am reading about 20 psi when idling and up to about 50 when running at higher speeds. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

That is a typical problem related to a poor connection in the cannon plug. Give the plug a good wiggle and twist and see if the low pressure reading goes away.

It is the plug (cannon shaped) that connects the dash area wiring to the engine. The wiring is on the floor of the engine room, starboard side, and loops up the plug. Technically, it is refered to as the engine to helm connector.
