Tracking Fin Slightly Bent

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have posted since the old site, but I need some advice so I am back for some more wisdom....

I hit a rock or something coming into a dock. The front tracking fin is bent, but in place very solidly. I searched and it looks like there are two possible options on mounting, I haven't gotten in goggles to see which option I have.

What I am wondering is:

How soon do I need to get it repaired?

Can I have a prop shop repair the fin?

What is cost of a new fin?

Overall, I am thinking that I might DIY if it is screwed in from the bottom. If I have to take out the fuel tank then I might take it in.

Thoughts?

Thanks again!

I had a simialar issue...think the orginal owner hit something...nothing major. The front fin was just twisted a bit. Had my dealer replace. If I recall, it was like $65 for parts.

did you put on the newer gorilla fins or the stock ones for that year.

I am not sure if something else hit the prop or if the bend would cause a vibration but it seems to have a vibration. It was really busy yeterday when tried to test it out so I can't tell if it has a pull to one side or another, but nothing super noticeable.
