I don't know how you Yankies can take it. I went to the lake yesterday and the air temp was 98 and the water was 90. I will wakeboard when its cold, but thats in March or November. I wouldn't trade my 100 degree July days though.

Wow, my hot tub is that warm. It must not even be refreshing to get in the water.

Plus1.gif Man our lake water temp just hit 70 degrees and I am totally thrilled with it. Thumbup.gif I think I would be sweating while in 95 degree water! That's crazy!

I don't like water over 75 degrees. Ski feels slow and my hands get torn to hell.

On top of that we don't have water moccasins, gators, or those brain-eating amoebas that enter through the nose or eyes on a nasty crash.

I'll keep the glacial lakes, thanks! :)

UWSkier,

What is it about warm water and hands falling apart? I have the same problem. Last week our lake jumped to 84 degrees and my hands got torn up. Had no problem prior to that day skiing. I don't get it. I'm thinking of trying those kevlar liners inside the gloves, as I don't like a kevlar glove. I'm currently using Masterline amara palm gloves.

I was in the river tonight and it dropped 10 degrees from last week...of course highs in the upper 60's for a few days will do that I guess. :(

This weekend we had 102 air and 95 water

TWJ, man that's too hot for me ... doesn't help that I'm a "human nuclear furnace" and hot all the time.

Yeah, been meaning to post about where's that global warming? 4 days in a row with highs only in the low 60s ... I know some people who have turned on their heat and it's July. All I can say is we better get some freaky warm weather in January where we can open our windows.

You could be here in New England where it seems like its been a month without sun....measurable rain 20+ days in June (supposedly the sunniest month). Water & air Temps in 60s.

Supposed to get back to normal this weekend? ....just in time.

We get called Yanks all the time down south. We had over 90,000 men from Wisconsin fight in the Civil War.

Your skin is softer so your calluses won't protect as well. liners work great. I've used them for years. You may always want to try more kevlar gloves, much more protection than the softer-palmed-gloves

115 in Phoenix. I am going to the lake Tues but only because I have to do a shakedown cruise prior to taking off to the north for vacation otherwise be happy to let it sit it in the garage for another 6 weeks.

It feels and looks like we should be picking apples or maybe getting our pumpkins.

Agreed. The lawn growth here has slowed to a crawl. It's even browning up in places. The high on Friday was in the 50s.

I'll take it though. I just got back from a week in Taiwan which needless to say was oppressively sweat-inducing.
