A couple question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 VLX. My friend has a 2008 VLX.

When comparing the two boats I noticed:

1. My perfect pass over shoots when wake boarding by about 4 miles then settles down. His perfect pass hits the desired speed without over shooting. Is there something I can do to hit my desired speed without over shooting? Some type of calibration?

2. When steering my boat it is harder to turn the steering wheel. It is not hard but with his steering you can pretty much use a finger. Is that because of new technology in the newer boats or do I have a problem with my power steering?

You can dial back the throttle as you approach your set speed. If you just leave the throttle down, it's almost guaranteed to overshoot the set speed on most of boats that I've driven, whether it's Perfect Pass or the Malibu Cruise system that your buddy most likely has. Additionally, the amount of ballast that you're running as well as wedge will make a difference.

There's no such thing as power steering on a Malibu. Sounds to me like you need a new steering cable.

Can't help with the P.P.

If you replace the steering cable you will have one finger steering.

Give Skidim.com a call they will set you up. (803) 345-0996
