skylon tower bolts

Recommended Posts

Went to Havasu this week and one of the allen bolts broken on my Skylon Tuna Tower. It broke in half so i'll probaby have to drill out the remaining half with a tap but where can i find a replacement bolt for my Skylon tower easily. They are TUZ allen bolts.

D,

I think what he's looking for is a stainless bolt that has a massive shoulder. I think I have the same bolts that he is talking about in the rear feet of my tower. They're very hard to find. I got some at Olander. I think he's looking for the bolt that goes here...

Thats the one I'm talking about. I use to have to remove my skylon tower at my old house and started to ware the aluminum threads on the rear pivot point, so I went down to the Ace which has a sweet collection of stainless hardware and got a longer version of that big allen bolt and a nylock nut.

Something like this one.

I have a Boss tower that has these same bolts. I need to fold the tower down each time I put in on the boat lift, and I am also concerned about wearing the aluminum threads. So after the threads wore, you drilled thru the tower and use a locknut on the other side?

I also picked up 4 spare bolts that I leave in the glove box in case I drop one in the lake, got them at Lowe's.

I didn't drill them out I just threaded the bolt in since the threads still grab but are loose and put the nylock nut on as a precaution, so I wouldn't loose it towing or on the water. I also bought extra bolts that work for the front and back and keep them in the boat just in case.
