Summer Boat Trips

-BS-

Recommended Posts

What does everyone have planned for boat trips this summer? I've seen some posts in other threads about 3 Rivers/Billy Chinook. I'm jealous! I relish the few times a year I get invited to 3 R's.

Anyway, we're leaving for a week on Shasta in a couple days. Yahoo.gif We also will spend a couple weekends in 3 Rivers later in the summer. We're taking a trip up to Bellingham in mid July, but wasn't sure if we'd take the boat. Anyone know some good spots up there?

Where is everyone else going?

We have a trip planned to Shasta July 9th-13th. Can't wait! Hopefully we can make it over to LBC this year for a weekend. Other than that we're at Fall Creek 3-4 days a week.

Staying with the NW theme -- annual get togethers with different groups of family and friends.

Looking forward to every one!

Camped at Perry South on Lake Billy Chinook last weekend. Going to Koppert Lake August 14, 15 and 16. Other than that, just daily trips to local rivers and reservoirs.

Just got back yesterday from 5 days on Lake Greeson in Arkansas. One of the best kept secrets around. Talk about smooth water. Heading back up soon.

Hey TJ, when are you going to be at Table Rock and where will you be at? I am headed up to Table Rock July 3rd and will be there till the 11th. We'll be staying at The Timbers Resort and Lodge in Shell Knob. If you'll be at Table Rock the same time lets meet up.

The cabin at Ten mile lake (close to coos bay)for 2-3 weeks.

Ruffdawg -- My wife has always wanted a place at the beach and I would prefer a lake. Ten mile seems like nice compromise so close to the beach.

We've looked at houses on line, but have never been there. . . . How's the water?

Excellent mornings and evenings. Nice warm water, very quiet during the week. The downfall would be weather. Well you know how coastal weather can be.

Could be a good compromise. Lakeside is a nice little town with a local grocery store for provisions, coos bay has a movie theater, (thats what we do when it rains) the dunes are close by. Tugman state park has an excellent hiking trail around a very nice and tranquil lake. This is very close.

Oh, I am not a fisherman but 10 mile is famous for bass fishing, and the yearly drag boat races. There is a yacht club if your into sailing at all. The yacht club has races all the time in the afternoon when the wind picks up.

Generally good water 7-9 and again from 6-dusk You have to go down the arms of the lake to find it. Not sure about the quality of the beaches, my wife grew up in Gold Beach so we NEVER get to go.
