How do I get this bulb out?

Recommended Posts

No way.

I'd walk into any auto parts store with that bulb and you'll find them.

That's just a 55W or 100W halogen bulb that would go in a driving light. Super common bulb I think it's an H3 model (getting old, can't remember what I did 5 mins. ago these days) The bulb wattage and model is engraved in the metal base of the bulb.

Just don't touch the glass with your bare hands when installing the new bulb.

So does the bulb come out of the metal housing, or do you buy the whole thing every time you change the bulb?

It should be in there with a metal retaing clip that looks like a paper clip.

At both ends there is usually a small loop and you push the clip down so that it goes underneath a small hook looking lock and then it will pivot up and out of the way. Then, just pull the bulb straight out. I thought you already had the bulb out since you had that picture of it.

This is the best pic. I could find on line and this is the best I can do with paint. You should see something similar to this inside the lamp minus the blue wire.
