95 Tantrum Spark Plugs? How to???

Recommended Posts

Boat: 95 Tantrum 5.7L Merc

Ok Guys... I looked at the plugs today and they are some NGK... What plug is reccomended?

Also do you need a special tool to take the plugs out? I had a small deep well socket and couldn't get it to work?

Do the exhaust Manafolds have to be taken off to get to the plugs out?

(I am replacing the plugs because the other day at the lake it didn't want to idle until it got really warmed up.)

Then if we parked for a bit and tried to pull someone again it didn't want to idle???

Other times it ran great!!!

Does this sound like a spark plug issue???

On that Mercruiser Mag 350, they should be cake to replace, no need to remove the manifolds. You do need a spark plug socket or thin wall to replace though.

Not 100% sure on the spark plugs because i'm not certain what engine you have. (double check your thread length),

it's this one http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=766

hepe this helps

Paul thanks... (I might go buy a thinwall and see if that allows me to get at them.)

I am looking at a 5/8 thinwall right?

Also

Is NGK the plug to go with??? My local Marine shop said a AC plug. ??

Thanks Got them out and replaced... went with the NGKs over the AC delco which is what is shown on the Spark arrestor.

VERY TIGHT FIT with the socket getting them out!
