V drive slalom?

a couple wake questions as it seems i can never arrange to get behind other boats (work/kids/schedules).

Does a '01 SS VLX diamond have a better slalom wake than a '07-newer VTX diamond?

Does a '01 SS VLX diamond have a better slalom wake than my '89 DD SS? -A friend of mine said, yes. I think he's nuts, but I've never skied a '01 SS VLX...

thanks,

CR

no

probably, although I've never been behind an 89 ss. The 01 sunscape skis surprisingly well, and I have quite a bit of course time in one.

I really need to ski behind more v drives if UW and John are right. Wait a minute, that doesn't sound right. I would have to ski it to believe it.

UW/John- at 32 plus mph, will side spray hit the rope when you're cut out? It's a problem with my neighbors 96 Mastercraft v drive. and his wake is bigger than mine by far.

OK, I'm looking for an 01 ss VD to try and buy.

jason,

i need to ski behind a SS VLX diamond, too. Rockon.gif I think it will be my next boat. i usually ski at least 34 mph, and my '89 has a bump at 21' off, otherwise (shorter) it is pretty darn good.

i made the mistake of taking my wife/family out in a friends Moomba Mobius LSV, and it's set that we'll be getting a v-drive (social aspect).

....if the slalom is just as good as my DD, the SS VLX will be a great stepping stone to a 20 LSV or diamond VTX! Drool.gif

perhaps you shouldn't ski behind one!!!

Keep in mind the your timing for transition into the next turn will change as the wake width is larger.

I've never heard of that, but the answer is no. How would spray make it to the rope?

Maybe you 2 need to set up a day with UW & drive to his neck of the woods to try it out. Sorry UW, had to throw that out there. We know that you're there for the Crew.

wakegirl......are you suggesting a v-drive, slalom, bro-mance?!

jason.....I'll bring the beer if you bring some gas cash. Thumbup.gif

problem is, with this summer i'll have a really tough time gettting behind my own boat much less roadtrip to the WI northwoods!!! weddings, weddings and more weddings!

.....doubt if i'll make 100 hours this season...damn.

UW did volunteer to pull me last summer....i never made it Cry.gif.

I said day, not date silly. Although it would be a Sausage Boat.....on second thought, you need to make plans to bring the girls with you.

C'mon...in Wisconsin, "Sausage Boat" doesn't have to be interrupted the wrong way!

UW - Do the Brewers still host the 5K Sausage Race? My Michigan friends still laugh at me when I tell the story of how I got my butt kicked by a guy running a 5k in a 8 foot sausage costume.

Each year some guy runs the Chicago Marathon in a chicken outfit... and trust me he'll kick your butt. It's always nice to get "owned" by a guy in a chicken outfit.

I think so, although the only sausage racing I usually see is at the Brewer games.

And if you want to ski behind the '01, come on up to Crandon anytime! I'm always glad to pull a fellow 'crew member.

And as for spray, there's very little. The only time I've ever had an issue with it was messing around at 35' off in a headwind free skiing. I've seen DD's that are way worse.
