Wet Perko

Recommended Posts

I just finished my dual battery install. My perko switch switch sits on the floor behind the observers seat with the batteries. I chilli dipped and took on some water a couple times last weekend. I got to thinking, that can't be good for the perko, batteries, etc to be getting wet. My question is should I and could I mount that perko to the inside wall next to the breaker? If so, how deep can my screws go without running them into the walkthru??!!

I just messed with some stuff there and I think I used 3/4 inch (check though). You may go through the fiberlgass but there should be an interior panel there that the screw will not get through.

My Perko switch is installed behind the spotters seat, up near the glovebox, on the same plane as the seat back itself. So I lift the seat back, reach in & it's on the left.

You must have added wired to do that. I'd like to avoid doing that. Sounds like it would be a good idea to get if it off the floor though??!! I'll look to see if I have any screws that just extend about 3/8" passed the bottom of the perko. Thanks.
