Ok so today I finally got the speakers in I'd been waiting for (Polk MM651UM) and i went to install them in my 2000 Sporty LX. I had to take the windshield off to do the swap and when i was screwing the drivers side piece (The big curved piece) I put a screw that was too long back into a hole which had a piece of the glass behind it. I screwed it in too far and the entire piece exploded. I was dumbfounded and angry. I'm an idiot. After looking at it, i didnt even need to remove that screw to remove it. The worst part is the brand new speaker was full of glass. That took forever to clean out without cutting or scratching anything.

Does anyone know the best place to get a new windshield? Am i better off getting the entire frame/glass or just a piece of glass? I had seen the perfect piece on ebay for months, but it sold on May 28th for $300. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be greatly appreciative.

See if you can find that seller again, is it a private party or business? If the latter, they may be able to track down more of the same. Otherwise search, search, search.
