Thermostat for 320 Monsoon

Our boat has the Monsoon 320, and our temperature gauge shows 180 degrees. However, it seems as though the thermostat for this engine should be a 160 degree one. Do you think I need to replace the thermostat, or is the gauge maybe showing an incorrect reading?

Hi, I have a 98, same deal. Temp is running at 180. I noticed the Indmar manual has a different temp gauge in the book. Centered at 180?
