Charging Battery

Recommended Posts

Can I float/trickle charge my battery while it is hooked up to the boat with the battery switch in the Off position, or do I need to unhook the battery from the terminals?

You can leave it hooked up. Make sure you have the charger on a very low setting for a float charge. 2 amps should be the most you're sending to it. Having an automatic charger that just keeps the batteries topped off automatically is the best practice.

That's what I'll do. I think it float charges at a setting of either 1 amp or 2. Thanks
