can you mount a wedge on this boat?

Yes, either the old fixed wedge or (better) the newer free floating wedge.

Is it the same hull as a v ride?

The same as the '05-'08 Vride. The '09 Vride is a different hull.

Can I put ballast in it?

Well, you can put ballast in anything. :) But yeah, a 400lb vride bag in each rear locker & a bag in the center ski locker would work nicely. In addition you could put a bag up front in the bow, that would help as well. It all depends on what your plans are for the boat though.
