just curious if there are any Malibu Crew folks out there with a new FXi???

I haven't really heard much about them. Dontknow.gif

I'm curious about the ski wake....better than the old SS LXi?

If anyone could post images (wake at speeds/boat/trailer/towere) or write a bit of review that would be great Thumbup.gifYahoo.gifClap.gif !

thanks,

Since it's exactly what you are looking for, I've got a deal for ya. It's sitting in my showroom with a few demo hours to take the aforementioned pictures.

We had a 2002 Sunsetter (non LXI) until this year. I test skied the 2009 FXI in September last year, at 15 and 22 off the FXI felt extremely familiar. At those line lengths I would say the wakes are very similar. I did not ski at shorter lengths (don't really have the talent so why test ski that short) but when you get below 28 off the FXI wake looks much flatter than the Sunsetter. I did play on our boat down to 38 off to see what it felt like, the rooster tail on the Sunsetter was a little intimidating for me and was pretty hard.

When we first got our Sunsetter I had a chance to ski behind a SSLXI. That was around 2002/2003, so my memory is a little fuzzy. I believe the SSLXI was maybe just a little better than our SS, but I think the running surface is pretty much the same between the two (don't quote me on that). For us the RLXI was the goal and I gave the FXI a chance since they had one available for demo. If I was more interested in the FXI and already had a SSLXI, I probably would not have upgraded boats.

It's often better to ask for forgiveness than permission!

hehehehe. :)

...did I say that?

Yes, Peter, you did. How's that philosophy working out for you with Lin???!!! Fingerwag.gif

Aside from the motorcycle back in ... what, 03 or so? it's worked out fairly well. ;)

There's those that watch it happen, those that want it to happen, and those that make it happen. Thanks Mom & Dad for instilling that in me.

The SSlxi is on the Diamond haul and is a outstanding wake even up to 41 off. Got to go I am going for a ski behind SSlxi @ 35 off in just a few minutes. Yahoo.gif
