Old style Rotary Switches

I searched the forums, but was unable to find a reference to the old style - 2000 & back rotary switches that Malibu used on the dash. Last year, I added ballast & bought 4 switches from my dealer. I plumbed & wired, turn the switch to the right - heard a pump(fill), turn switch to the left - heard a pump(drain, I thought). I went to the lake, filled the bags, then turned the switches to the left, water pours out the drains back into the lake, 10 minutes later - still pouring, bags still full. Hmmm, this is gonna' take forever!! I figured out that the switches I bought were the ones for the lights, etc. - turn to the right, the anchor light is on, turn to the left the anchor and the running lights are on, so on drain, the fill and drain pumps were running. The dealer is unable to get me the correct ones, Bakes said they needed my hull ID #, even though my boat came with no ballast originally. I wondered if anyone knew the manufacturer of the switches. I found several references to the newer rocker type, but I'm not ready to embark on another conversion project yet.

i would get bakes the hull id. it is not like you are looking for oe ballast parts, you are looking for oe style switches.

I will email Bakes the hull ID, they seems like good people. I just did not have the ID with me at work yesterday, and thought in the end it might be easier to get them from the actual manufacturer, as 'Bu might not stock them anymore for a 9+ year old boat, and, I am told, ( accurate or not i don't know :) ), was that 'Bu was in the middle of moving all their parts stock from Merced to Tennessee. My point in the sentence you highlighted, was that, when they run my hull ID, since my boat does not have any of the switches that I actually need, it will be of no help. Malibu used three different types of rotary switches back then, the two position off/on, the three position on(both circuits)/off/on(one circuit) like the lights use that I described, and the three position on(one circuit)/off/on(one circuit) that I need. I am surmising, that running the hull ID will be like running it for a car, which will show the parts guy all the parts that THAT particular vehicle/boat has, for instance, if I wanted a switch for the sunroof, and gave the Chevy guy a VIN for a similar car without a sunroof, it would not help him, as the sunroof switch would not show up for the VIN I gave him. If The Malibu parts system works like that, I assumed that the ID would be of no help.
