Registeration Numbers - Suggestions

I have a 2008 23 LSV - Mostly Black - just a little white in the back. The boat looks so good - I hate to add the registeration numbers - can someone that has a black boat give me some suggestions as the best way to apply the registeration numbers without damaging the look of the boat?

Thanks!

Chuck,

I just put some on mine last night. Get those ones off of e-bay and get the chrome center with white outline. This will match the wakesetter decal almost perfectly and looks good. I screwed up and got white center with chrome outline but it looks fine anyways. I'll post a picture a little later today.

You could always chance it and get black center with white or chrome outline. You'll probably get messed with by lake patrol.

I wanted our boat to have no white...so it doesnt (except the very top of the hull, which wasn't worth the extra $$$ to get it painted)

Here is the best that I could find for side shots...hopefully this works, I can upload to a diff site, if needed!

Edit: these are domed numbers, and they match pretty closely, both color and font

I had mine painted, never had an issue.

You should be able to find someone that could do a sweet job and match your boat well.

I went went the all chrome ones from 3dlettering on ebay. I wanted to keep the letters simple and try to match the stainless Malibu on the rear.

They have a tool on their actual website where you can input your numbers and see the different fonts, colors, etc. However, it is cheaper to order through ebay than direct through their website.

I've considered that....until a friend bought a boat out of state that had them painted on. After watching the work that it took him to get them off, I'd have to say that it would be a huge strike against any boat that I was looking at that had them painted on. No way would I want to go through that.

I just called domed numbers and asked them to match the wakesetter graphics. The numbers they sent are a perfect match and look awesome. I had mine die cut so the black hull color shows through. They can e mail some samples to show you what die cut looks like. As mentioned above, the numbers are a little hard to read from a distance. That could work for you or against you, depending on how you use your boat. Whistling.gif

True, if your in a position where you had to buy or sell a out of State it might take some time to change as opposed to pealing off a sticker.

The domed #s look pretty good.

My boat is very similar, I went with white block and a gray drop shadow, I think it looks very good. Also did each drop shadow so it fell back and down 45degrees. Matched up very nice and shoudl keep me out of trouble. Most stated require block lettering although it is not enforced in many.

Hey guys! I followed your comments here, I have something exciting to share too. I was looking to change my Vinyl original registration numbers, I read your comments and went to 3DLettering.com to see the options they have in stock. I was looking for a special font. I called them 818.349.6000 Come to find out they just released a new style font just last week, they call that Super Sports. They told me this would match most of the major brand boats. I thought what I would lose by paying $45 compare to $110 Custom, I took the risk and ordered from them. Super fast shipping, got my numbers in 2 days, Pre-Spaced, ready to install. Awesome looking!!!! Better than custom and my original decal from the factory. It definitely added value to my boat.

Hmmm. First post and hawking a product?
