How long does it take to Summerize?

So we're heading out to the lake tomorrow, but the boat's not summerized yet. We have our boat stored with our mechanic and we were thinking of getting the boat in the water friday night for saturday. I'm hoping that our mechanic isn't too busy, but I was wondering how long it approximately would take for him to complete the whole process?

Is it a 4 hour process, 30 min process???

OMG, dude, get the boat out already. Conditions have been great & are going downhill the warmer it gets out. It's less than an hour the first time. Probably 15 min. after you've done it a few times.

I would expect to be charged 1 hour of labor to summerize, although some dealers work the cost into winterizing the boat.

Haha, gotta love those responses. Thanks for the input guys! Now hopefully our mechanic isn't really busy today!

If your boat was winterized correctly, the only thing you should have to do is put the drain plugs in, fill the gas tank, connect the battery (hopefully it's been sitting on a trickle charger), and drop it in the water!

If the boat was filled with rv anti freeze the only thing needed would be to install the battery. Be ready for the boat to be a bit of a pia if the engine was fogged. Enjoy the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
