You should give Wiley's a call. They might have an old wood ski kicking around they will let go (they have dozens screwed to the ceiling, it is kind of a waterski museum!) or know where to get one. www.wileyski.com

I went to Play-It-Again sports and picked up 3 used maharajas for $20 each (robbery). I heat gunned the urethane finish off, then sanded, re-burned/traced the Maharaja logo, and urethane again.

Might be more than you are interested in doing.

There is an old boat store in our town that has a huge stockpile of old wood skis that have never even been used, he probably bought some of them 15 years ago and they have never been sold

thanks guys, I have the old skis, original George Athens sea gliders that my Dad used to use and that's what I plan on refinishing and making into a gift. I recall a guy I think in Michigan that does this and makes them real nice and I was hoping to look at them for ideas. I'm sure someone will know the place I'm thinking about. I know that the ski paradize has one hanging in their lake cabana. thanks again

Those are classic. I hape some d*** Pope's and Cypress Gardens in my garage loft I've been meaning to un-bury, stuff that came with my first boat in '92, which was a snazzy '76 Glastron V-Hull 156 w/85hp. I've seen others at garage sales and on e-bay, just keep checking.

It's going to be funny when our kids are doing this with our wakeboards in 20 years.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. You could always try a custom furniture shop or a wood boat builder/restorer. Both would be adept at refinishing wood to a high quality standard.

Kids in 20 yrs?

I've had an old Skurfer & several old "Saturday Night Specials" screwed to the back fence for years. Their old boards that we pressed in the 90s with funky graphics in the layup, ie; American flag, Jolly Roger, old t-shirts, etc.
