Help with setting up bindings on new slalom ski

Hi Crew,

I just bought a new Connelly Concept 67" ski, with large Fastback double boots. I went to go for a ski yesterday and when I got into the ski it felt very uncomfortable and the setup felt very foreign to me. So foreign and uncomfortable that I didn't even get up doing a deep water start. That being said I was dead tired from my barefoot set, but still I never have felt like this before. It was the first "ride" on the ski.

It feels like the bindings are too far apart because my ankles seem to be at a horrilbe angle. Should I move the binding around and should the rear boot be slightly angled??? I really do not know where to start because I have never had to do this before.

I am 5'9", 170 lbs, Right foot forward skier, Open water skier primarily. Any suggestions??

not familiar with that ski's setup, but I can tell you how I have my HO CDX setup. And it just may feel "awkward" for awhile, until you get used to it. It will be a combination of using double boots (if this is your first time), and the ski may just ski a lot different than anything you are used to (when I went from my Stilleto to my CDX, i felt like I had never skied before).

I am RFF too, i have my back binding set so my rear plate is right up against front plate. And the HO does give you the opportunity to slightly cant the binding to one side or the other, so i do have a slight lean on my left leg (rear) to the left.

Rushman,

I have a 68" Connelly concept with the fastback double boots. Both boots are facing straight forward with about a 1/2" gap between the bindings.

This is my first double boot set-up so I couldn't comment on whether it felt "wierd" or not. All I can say is I have really grown to love the set up. I especially love the bindings and not having to soap up before every run.
