Surfing question

Hello yall, I bought a 23 lsv this year and we are really trying to get into surfing. I have one question about adding extra weight to the boat. Do you guys adjust the weight when you have a more people show up or just always leave it the same. I just dont want to overload the boat but on the flip side I want the biggest surf wake possible.

well that will depend on how much weight you have and how many peeps you pick up. If you have your boat dialed in on the wave you like then use that amount of weight.

ex. we ride with a 750 in locker, 400 bow, 400 in seat. if we have extra crew we toss the seat 400 in the floor, if we have even more crew then we dont use the 400 in seat or the floor.

Thanks for the info. Usually there is just three of us. More riding that way. But sometimes the whole crew shows up. I like the wave better but means less time in the water. So I want to add more weight and less crew. I want to be as sellfish as I can without offending anyone.

Definitely you gotta adjust depending on the people you got in that boat. My pal has a 23 LSV and uses 750s in the lockers and loads er up with people and hasn't sunk it yet...but I think you gotta be really careful (he is...I'm just baggin' on him). Be so careful you don't submerge fuel vents for one thing. Ugh....

One thing I do is ask my people to shift their weight....I have 2 or 3 of them sit on the high side when I'm picking up my surfer, then have em switch to ballast side when we surf. Pain in the butt, but allows me to have bigger surf wave and remain a little bit safer when we aren't.
