03 VLX PROP HELP AFTER ADDING BALLAST

Recommended Posts

I have an 03 VLX which I just fatened up. I felt like it was having trouble coming out of the hole and had some trouble @ surf speed.

Here is the weight that I am running

750# in ea. rear locker

500# stock center ballast

1100# bow sac

I was wondering if anyone had any idea what prop would work best for this set-up. Can I do any damage running the stock prop with all the extra weight?

Thanks!!

OJ 468 or for more crusing economy the 475.

That is the same set up that we did when we had that huge rooster tail. NVboarder said it was a huge wake to hit.

Your going to want the 468 and give up the top end. You will need all the hole shot you can get.

Over working the eng is never a good thing and using the stock prop will also take forever to plane out.
