NADA Values

I am inquiring if anyone on the Crew is good with estimating NADA boat values or could provide futher direction. I tried to rate my boat through the NADA website and found that they don't have the following listed:

Heater

Trailer

Wedge

Upgraded gauges with depth gauge, water & outdoor temp

Will be greatly appreciated.

NADA value doesn't mean jack... Look on websites such as this, onlyinboards.com, boattrader.com, craigslist, etc.. to get an idea of what a real world selling value would be (not that some of the price on boats you will find on these sites aren't severely overinflated) but it will give you a good idea.

My father used to always say "It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it". Which so true. Nada will give you a general idea market value, but that's it. I wouldn't take anywhere close to what it says my boat is worth.............

Alot of it is a guessing game...especially in today's economy. There are other guides out there as well. It might be easier to post the specs of your boat, and ask members opinions on what it might be worth. Having bought same boat as you 12months ago, I would likely have some input.

For starters, I'd guesstimate $1000-1500 for the used trailer...assuming single axle and in good condition. The other stuff (heater, wedge, gauges) probably are likely factored in more like "bargaining chips" if you are trying to get the price up a bit to the higher end of the "price range". You did not disclose whether you are looking to trade or sell privately.

This is for a refinance of my current and the banks use NADA as a reference. The banks seem willing to accept what I say but need the back up documentation.

I just accessed NADA info thru the boattrader.com website ("research" tab) . I was able to locate boxes to check for "cockpit heater", "depth sounder", and I would consider checking "ballast" a close equivalent to a wedge. I am assuming you are looking to hike the value... plenty of other things you can "check" ie. cover, pylon, etc. I don't think these are things the bank could argue against. Also, the site does allow you to to check trailer values.

Good Luck.

BTW, as I have same boat as you, I ran my info and was freaked at how low it came back at.

Exactly on trying to get the value of the boat increased. I was freaked out as well on how low it was. I'll go back into NADA and check for those options.

Thanks

TMC does it again Rockon.gif After reviewing davemacs information I went back into the NADA sight and found what I was overlooking in the option category. I also found that the trailers were rated separatley and I feel fairly valued. I am where I need to be as far as the value.

And now for my next post
