vinyl stain on engine cover

rear engine cover has brownish stains on it and not sure how they got there, figure maybe tanning oil or bathing suits. Any ideas on how to get this out?????

mine 2 --- no suntan lotion --- im guessin al gore --- global warming ??? not sure dude i have even tried rubing sand nothing works im just livin with it till it rips

try Babe's seat soap, great stuff, works really well and protects against just about everything. you should be able to find it at a dealer or hit up the web to find the site.

I had nasty brown stains on my cover for a year. It happend, i think, during a camping trip when I had the cover on...I also went scuba diving and had a scuba bag on the hump. The next day it was brown stained. Nasty brown. I couldnt get it off. Scrubbed with bleech soft scrub...scrubbed w everything. All I did was mess up the finish.

Lesson learned. It faded and is now completely gone. I have seen this over and over with this upolstery. Leave it alone dude. Lay some bleech soft scrub on it. Leave it in the sun. After a while it will go away. I gaurantee it.

I have also heard others say that they thought it was a result of animal piss...cat piss in the garage or whatever. Maybe. Someone swore a cat pissed on his boat cover.

Anyhow. Leave it alone dude. You will only screw up the finish. It will eventually come out on its own...
