Oil pressure reading fluctuation

I have an 03 Monsoon 335. This weekend the oil pressure was sometimes changing around between 40-50 psi with the engine under nearly constant RPMs ~ 2300 (perfect pass in speed mode). I have not seen this before and was wondering if I should be concerned.

I'd say as long as it doesn't boogie any lower than 15 underway your good to go! Thumbup.gif I'm sure PP is always varying throttle a little bit (like cruise on your car) to keep a constant speed which would explain the variation in pressure. As long as a Chevy smallblock as more than 15-20 psi underway all is good. If it has less, shut her down and check the oil level.

I've heard this can be from a worn motor having the crank shift ever so slightly as the engine is running. I'm not sure I'd worry about it too much given the flux is from 40-50. I have a 92 Chevy p/u that has done this since I bought it at 130k miles. It now has 220k miles, still does it and has always ran like a champ.
