Response LX Bow Seating Customization

Crew,

I am looking for some ideas to improve the bow seating in my 1998 Response LX. For those not familiar with the boat, it is an open bow, although it has the "step-over dash". In the bow, instead of having an aisle through the middle there is one bench seat where one or (max) two people can sit facing forward.

One complaint I have with the setup is the seat is "secured" by two rubber pegs which sit in front of an outcropping in the floor. Often this becomes dislodged and the bench recedes under the dash. I am looking for a way to attach the bench more positively. Has anyone experienced this problem and come up with a good solution? I was thinking maybe velcro, although ideally I would like something long-term and secure.

Additionally, I was thinking about adding a triangular cushion to completely cover the bow with seats, much like some of the newer open bow boats have. I am not concerned about perfectly matching the upholstery, but would like a quality solution. Anyone have experience with this? I live in the greater Dallas Ft Worth area but will have the boat between there and Phoenix Az in the next year.

Thanks!

Ryan
