Exhaust Tubes

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! I have a 1987 Sunsetter with a 351 pcm. that I am restoring. The exhaust tube (fiberglass) cracked so I fabricated Alumnium 3" tubes and put dampeners in them like the originals. The problem I am having is the temp. is around 215F. instead of 180F. Does these exhaust tube have any effect on the Temp. of the engine.???

Thanks

The tubes out the back should have no affect on the engine temp providing they allow the water to flow freely. Check your thermostat and the inlet for any restriction (internally collapsed hose, trans screen etc.). $0.02
