Memorial Day Weekend, how was it?

Well its back to the office for me. How was everyone's weekend? Anyone have interesting stories to share?

We were at the lake all weekend. Sat at a local marina for a while watching all the newbie's on boats. One guy was going into a slip with his pontoon and hit the end of the slip going about 10mph!! Crazy to see the whole family fall out of their seats and the wife/husband conversation which followed!!

Then watched a small jet boat do circles trying to get that thing in the slip. Of course everyone on the boat was wearing the orange coast guard approved vests! My wife said "look at that Price-is-Right boat". Funny.

Other than choppy water due to all the boat traffic, we had a great time. Plenty of wakeboarding (early and late), few parties, some live music on our deck, and plenty of cruising the lake.

Hope everyone had a safe one!!

Rained off and on all weekend....managed to put about 5 hours on the trailer and 1.5 on the boat! Not the best of weekends!

Oh well, on the bright side I still have a full tank of gas in the boat!

I just noticed you are from NC also! You must have found the dry spots this weekend. We went to Lake Wylie early Saturday...got

rained on. I would have probably stuck it out for a while but there were several women and children with me and I would have been

vetoed! I couldn't go Sunday. Monday I was supposed to meet some friends at Lake Tillery after lunch. The closer I got the more it rained

so I eventually just turned around and went back home.

80s & sunshine all weekend here. Even had great water conditions till Saturday about 2pm when all the lice & tubers came out of the woodwork. Rode 4 times in 4 days, drank a ton of beer, soaked up a boatload of sunshine, & put about 12 hrs on the boat. Thumbup.gif

Busted the wedge permanently, tweaked a prop enough to need to put on the spare, rained off and on, a couple near collissions, but the crew all got one set each and then we went back to keep the Margarita machine happy while watching the other idiots from the balcony.

Saturday: Spend the day cleaning and waxing the Bu

Sunday: Rained all day but had to work so didn't matter.

Monday: Rained on the way to the lake but the sun broke out and the day was great.

Met another Bu owner at Trace lake in MS who's a BuCrew member. Shoot me a note if you read this. I didn't get your name.

We did it all: wakeboarding, barefooting, skiing, tubing. 3 beautiful days in the midwest. Kids and I are all exhausted, bruised and slightly sunburned...it's great.

Same over here. Minus kids and tubes. Great weekend! Clap.gif

It was a good weekend on Ray Roberts. The marina parking lot was much more full than I have ever seen it. The lake was busy but not as crazy as I expected. Party cove was a good place to be yesterday to wrap up my 4-day weekend. :)

Boated all day Sat, took one for the team on Sun and worked around the house, Mon put the lift in and boated - had the worst face plant ever ... knocked the wind out of me and sore all over - ready to do it again. Glad I'm at work so I can rest.

We rode all day yesterday after my uncle called me up and said they had their Bu out and the tube traffic wasn't bad at all. We had a blast and put 7 hours on the boat yesterday! Thumbup.gif

Wow, tough weekend. Sounds like you should have just started and continued with the margaritas.

Got everything in the water and had a great weekend. Sunny and 65-70 degrees in MN...the water was a little cold, but it was still great to get on the water!

Worked on the boat Saturday, went to go out on Sunday, beautiful day.

Got to the gas station and noticed the nice smell of cooked trailer brakes as I'm walking to the back, found out I have a nice sticky caliper I need to replace.

I only tow it about 6 miles to the ramp so I decided to truck on (only another 3/4 mile) to find the public launch ramp was closed, gate (which is never locked) is locked.

Turned around went home and tried to unsucessfully fix the sticky caliper.

That does sound rough. Good for you for at least making a good time of it all in the end.

Had a great weekend, saw a lot of friends I haven't seen since last Summer. Now two days of laying on the couch resting.

Yep, over on the other side of NC up at Lake Gaston. We had clouds off and on but no rain until late Sunday night. We were pretty lucky on weather seeing how the western part of the state was getting wet.

4 days camping at apache lake, slight rain on friday afternoon, no biggie wakeboarded in the rain. Rest of weekend was mid 90s and sunny. Off the hook! Boarding, surfing, partying. Heavy metal happy hr on sat. Kids had great time. No drama lots of good freinds. I'm sore and my liver hurts.

The weather at Gaston was great! Hung out at the island outside of Big Stone House all weekend. Rough and busy, only got in a few surf runs. Are you a regular on Gaston?

Headed to the lake on Sunday and discovered as we were backing down the ramp that both batteries were completely dead. Cry.gif So after some head scratching, I hooked to the boat with some jumper cables for about 45 mins and that charged it enough that we were able to start her up once we got her in the water. Clap.gif So the day was saved...

I called the dealer this morning and he said I was the 3rd guy to call with that issue in the past couple of weeks. For the near term, I've put a charger in the boat and have turned the switch to off, so we don't have a repeat situation next weekend.

Had a blast, great people, great weather!

Blew out an impeller gasket and I think the alternator is TOAST...... Nothing I can't have taken care of before this weekend..

Exactly what I was thinking. Weekends like that can turn a person into an alcoholic.

Me, I worked on some projects around the house & was actually very productive. :)

I did a little of that also and freed up that time for the rest of the summer to play, our day out on the water sat. was a little chilly really windy and around 75f air :)

got some good runs in Saturday. Sunday it was late by the time we got out, weather was spotty, wanted to rain, wind would blow, then quit. had a run in with a jet ski (see my post in off topic.) Monday it rained the whole day, played a ton of Wii.

Probably went right by you! We did see a tan colored BU and another BU there one day. I think there was a nice looking Nautique there as well. And yes, that is a high traffic area! We have friends on the left going into Little Stonehouse Creek so we make our way down there, but usually take the pontoon for those longer trips in the holiday chop.

We own a vacation home at LKG and are there most weekends but west of EF Bridge. We wake boarded early in the mornings and very late in the evenings.
