HELP! Boat Won't Turn!!

Recommended Posts

2003 'BU XTI 23'

While wakeboarding, all of a sudden, the boat won't turn to the right. It only turns left. Then after a little while, it won't turn any direction.

Researching here tells me it's the steering cable, but not so sure. From what I've read, a bad cable can cause a lot of stiffening (yes, it was stiff), but rarely would it actually BREAK.

This JUST happened while we were out, so we want to get it fixed asap.

Please HELP!!!

Thanks

The locking nut on the steering cable has come loose, Happen to my RLXI almost caused me to beach the boat. Not for sure how to get to it on your boat but, located at the back next to the rudder assembly. An aluminum tube with a lock nut that holds the cable in place. (it adjust the left to right ratio)

Thanks! I will give it a shot tomorrow. I hope this fixes it!

Hope that does it, I pull my rear seat and muffler cover to expose the cable. Mine was under the fuel tanks and a B**** to get to.
