they want 18,900 for it is that a resonable price?

Hours, other options?

Try a search and see what turns up. I think that's what most people would do to find a decent price.

That's probably a fair price.

Cheapest prices are found on Craigslist.

Cheapest areas are: sfbay, reno, sacramento, stockton, on the west coast.

Go to the main page and select your nearby states, then locales, click on boats. Use Sunsetter in your search.

Go to NADA.com and look at the value for a used one. This will give you an idea of the market value. If they are asking higher than the used value, you can probably get them to come down. Also, go to boattrader.com, craigslist, usedboats.com and search Malibus. This will give you an idea of what others are asking for as far as price. Here is what you want to consider when evaluating: engine hours (most important), hull condition (oxidation, dings, scratches), vinyl condidtion (no torn seams, rips, stains). I hope this helps. Good luck with your evaluation.

I purchased a 98 sunsetter vlx a year ago before the world came to an end (according to the media) and paid $18,500. It was in great condition and had the following:

Perfect Pass

240 hours

tower

racks

bimini

two covers

killer stereo

shower

Heater

double axel trailer

I also had a mechanic check it out and the owner paid for a new muffler and water pump.

Given the state of the economy if your boat checks out it is probably priced a bit high. Everything can be negotiated at the moment. Right now there are a lot of distress sales going on and it pays to look around a lot. A contractor in our area had everything seized by the bank and all his toys including his 07 Wakesetter went to auction. I heard that it went pretty cheap.

Good luck
