Gelcoat repair in the Ventura area???

So, I caused a couple chips in my nice new blue gel coat on the side of my 247 LSV hull....UUUUGGGGHHHH!!!! It didn't have ONE FRICKEN scratch before either....even after towing it 2400 miles from the east coast. Go figure, huh? Boy...if only I was double jointed enough to kick my own A$$....

Anyway, I searched the archives and only found results for the Sacramento area.

Anyone know of a top quality, skilled gel coat repair guy in the Ventura/Camarillo area?

Thanks in advance guys....

Yes, I know of Tilly's....thanks, but was hoping to find some specialist's name, location or phone number...hopefully to have them to come out to my place for the small repair rather than leave my boat at a shop for a week or more.....

Any thoughts?

Two chips the size of pencil erasers, down to the glass right in the middle of a buncha blue.

I stupidly had an 8ft piece of thin wall channel iron on the ground next to the trailer (it was for the future boat awning too). Went to move the metal specifically to prevent this very thing. Started to walk away with it and kicked one of the loose wheel chocks I use to secure the trailer further in my driveway (I'm on a slight incline). The two points of the channel hit the side of the boat with a thud....looked back and saw some nice blue chips/dust flying off. No lengthy scratches, just two impact points where all the damage occurred.

If I can't find anyone local....maybe one of you guys can supply some plans for a boot swung by a self actuated rope that I can pull on for about 30 times..... Cry.gifCry.gifCry.gif

Look to see if Joes Tooling in Sun Valley California is still doing these repaairs as he was the the go to guy for this in the So Cal area. He even fixed the gelcoat fade colors so prevalent on perfomance boats like Carrera, Cole, Hallet etc. When I worked with Cole boats, he did all our repairs and the results were awesome! His shop used to be located down near I-5 and San Fernando road just west of the Hollywood Way offramp. Last time I had a boat there his very capable duaghter was doing much of the work also so I am told she is perpetuating the business. Nobody in the So Cal area could match fades and metalflake like Joe could. Seen a lot of those heinous Ranger Bass boats get their metalflake gelcoat repaired to perfection there.

I live in Simi Valley and have come across a gentleman that does fiberglass repair for the motorhome dealers in the area. In fact he repaired my Sea doo after a collision. He did a great job. The repair is not even noticeable. He also did some motor home repair for me in both fiberglass and paint repair. He comes to your place and does the work there if he can. He has a shop in the eastern part of Simi valley if that is necessary. He has a cell phone for the Orange county area, but he lives in Simi. His name is Terry, his cell phone # is 909 815 0523. Tell him Steve referred you, and He usually gives good prices.
