Lubricate Wedge?

Recommended Posts

The manual wedge on my '04 VLX can be a little difficult to raise & lower. Can it be lubricated with something, and if so, what?

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah, I saw that thread, but didn't think it applied to my particular issue. Mine is a factory installed wedge, and doesn't appear to be binding anywhere. It just seems to be getting old and tough to move. Any "lake friendly" lubes out there?

Mine was factory installed too but needed to be fixed as per the info in the thread provided.

Why not try 'Lanolin' it comes in a aerosol or grease form. It's grease form is food safe, 100% natural and wont harm the environment in any way. I'm not sure if you guys can readily get it in the US, if not we have a heap of it at work and it might be a long way but i'd be happy to send you a tube. It's great stuff and it would wash away eventually but residue would def. be left behind.
