I know nothing about the prices of the wake/surf boats but $49900 seems crazy cheap for that kind of boat. Even though it is still 50K for a boat.

Malibu is offering the boat of the week to move some inventory at the factory, these boats for the most part are 2008 photo shoot and athlete boats. The factory isn't overloaded w/ boats just a handful they want to move. The boat sale can be handled directly thru the factory but the dealer is helping with financing, registration and delivery or directly via the dealer. Via the dealer is a smart choice due to the fact they themselves aren’t taking the hit on a bat they ordered and you then have a starting point for a dealer relationship.

Are there roughly 10 of the exact same boats in each model, with a new model each week? Or are you saying 10 different models, with one boat for each model?

Most likely anything the graced the cover of the brochure, used in advertisements or by an athlete for '09 is subject to this offer. There maybe some duplicate models. So it'll be possible to have a RLXI, FXI, VLX, LSV, Vride etc.

These boats have hours and have been used for demo, photo shoots, display etc...

I cant dig the RX, but damn for that price, it aint that bad.... I mean thats like Moomba pricing...

I talked to a guy who got a 23 LSV at a similar price factory direct. I about Cry.gif when he told me...

Price is shocking because Malibus seem to hold thier value better than most.

It could very well be a brand new repo from a bankrupt dealer.

In comparison to what the housing market values are at now, I'm surprised they aren't discounting them more. This is a buyers market in any area or product you want, it's just a matter of supply and demand and the supply is well stocked right now just waiting for purchases but truthfully I'm not sure that I am willing to go buy a new boat if I'm going to have to take a huge loss on mine Whistling.gif although they may seem like a great deal that's what the prices are and I don't think they will go up in value soon!

This is the first week of this promotion.

So, I clicked on the deal of the week link, and my eyes were drawn to the following quote from the site:

"Why buy used when you can get a boat from the Malibu factory for less."

With Malibu owners selling their boats just to pay the bills, are discounts this deep really necessary right now? How about preserving a little value for those who are in dire straits? It seems to me that this promotion and the quote above were not well thought out. This is meant to be food for thought, not fuel for the fire.

Yeah,

From what I read the other day, I was totally under the impression that these were new boats.

I don't remember seeing anything about them being used.
