Suggestions for Heater for Sunsetter Lxi (Classic)?

Hi Crewers:

Thinking of adding a heater to my Classic SLXI. What would you recommend? I belong to a private ski club but also use the boat for trips to Norris Lake. I'd like to extend the season on both ends....

Thanks for the input...

Put one in you will never regret it. Its seems as though I us mine even in the summer on dawn patrol and in the evenings. In my book you can never go wrong with a heater.

I added one to my Sporty this winter (won it at the Nor Cal WoW raffle Thumbup.gif ). I have the two-outlet HeaterCraft heater, it works great. It took a day to install (not too bad). For the small upcharge to go three outlet I would probably do that if I was purchasing. Be sure to get the low RPM Y fitting (SkiDIM sells it for $35) for the return hose.

Definitely agree to go with the 3-outlet upgrade (and the Y-adapter). Even if you don't think you'll need all three outlets, the core is bigger and throws more btu's.

I have a 3 outlet in my sunsetter, 1 outlet at the drivers feet, 1 outlet at the dash (blows on the windshield and is good to clear your glass on those cooler mornings). extendable hose for the passenger. Works very well with this setup.

Heatercraft now has a 4 port heater:) :) It is the same size as the 3 port.. just just put 4 holes in the shroud. Why do 3 when you can have 4 :) And if you anve a 3 port you can easily swap it out with the 4 port shroud for $50. I have a 4 port up front and a 2 port in back.. lots of heat on the boat:)... cause that's what it takes to put together a nice season in seattle.

I have a 2 port on my Vride, mounted under the driver's side dash, 1 vent at the driver's feet & a snorkel in the walk thru.

I had a 5 vent in my MC & it rocked. I mounted the core on the passenger side. Two snorkels, one of which had a 6' hose, driver's side vent, and 2 windshield vents. We loved it.

I think if I were to do it again, I'd mount the core on the passenger side. The one in the Malibu popped last spring (got a little cold in May) & the water damaged the subwoofer box. So wherever you mount it, be prepared that it might leak a little bit one day.

My heater is located underneath the sub, only the vents are at the top.

Sounds like a 4-porter is the way to go. Thanks for the suggestions.

Anyone have pictures of their installs that they can share? I'm not really sure how these things go in.
