Let us know how it is working. We have a 99 sportster and it is very frustrating not knowing how much fuel is left. It is a mod that I will be doing in the fall or perhaps sooner.

How hard was it to remove the back seat and replace it?

That looks like the most difficult task of all.

well sitting in the garage it read half tank... and it looks like it is a half tank... so hopefully it will work.

The seat is easy to remove. sort of. You have to have a long arm to simply reach the 9 or so bolts on the back of the seat. You got to remove the blower cover on the back to get at a few of them. Very easy though. then just lift it out. The seat has posts that stick throught the holes you see in the fiberglass in the pictures. But there was one bold that I had to screw into the seat.
