My New 2009 VLX

Awsome looking boat!!!! We couldn't wait to pick up our new ride last year from Minnesota Inboard. I was the first to pick up my boat last year. We had to skip the water test ride since the local lakes still had ice on it. We took the boat back to Sartell to ride on the Mississippi. I'm sure you'll have the boat broke in while there's still snow on the ground.

Sweet looking boat!!! I'm doing my part too! I have a 2009 VLX on order, expect to get it in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Clap.gif The Response goes up for sale soon.

Thanks everyone! Mother nature just dumped about 3-4" of the white stuff on us overnight just to torture me I think. Oh well, whether we have any snow on the ground or not, the ice isn't off the lakes around here until early April so that is approximately when I'll take delivery. I'll post more pics when we get her on the water.

hey scott,

nice boat! congrats! which red is yours: reuben or regal?

I have ordered a reuben/black/white 2009 vlx from my dealer, but i have never seen a malibu "live" - these boats are rare in my country!

It will take another 6 weeks to get my ride from USA to Austria....

Chris - Thank you and congrats on your new vlx. Make sure you post some pics when you get her home. As it turns out, I'll likely be waiting about the same as you. I expect to take delivery of mine when all of the ice is off the lakes here which happens in early/mid April.

The red on my vlx is the regal.

We've had the new VLX out a couple of time since we took delivery a couple of weeks ago. We couldn't be more pleased with the boat at this point, it has run flawlessly for the 5 hours we've put on it. Well, the black box leaves plenty of room for improvement, but that's a minor thing to me. I have yet to add anything to the list of things that I would want addressed by the dealer at the first oil change. It will be interesting to see if anything comes up in the 5 to 10 hours.

I bought this boat without previously test driving an '09 VLX. My thought process was that I already owned a vdrive ('05 vRide) and the performance and handling would be pretty similar. I couldn't have been more wrong. This boat is more responsive in every aspect, and smooths out rough water much better that the vRide. I thought the vRide was great, but the VLX better. All the bells and whistles (power wedge, Maliview, etc., are just icing on the cake.

Here's a pic taken right after delivery. I'm really looking forward to getting through the break-in so I can get behind it and test out that wake.

So your not supposed to ride behind it during break in? All I was told was everything would be ok so long as i varied the RPMs and not drive across the lake at one speed. Good thing i suck at wakeboarding so wakeboarding speed doesnt last very long. I'm at 21 hours right now with no problems though... knock on wood....

I have alredy 29 hours onthe clock - no probs. Have ordered a new prop: ACME 1235. Hope this was the right choice! The wake is great, the handling smooth!

Compared to an '08 CC SAN 210: I feel very lucky with my VLX!!! Thumbup.gif I think you will also, srud!

hey guys

my 08 vtx has 130hrs on it already, we picked the boat up from the dealer in november. so im definately getting my moneys worth out of it, we have been out every week end unless its raining or a party. when i sold my bayliner it had 184 hours on it and that was an 04 model, it just shows if you buy something really nice (malibu) you just dont want to stop going out in it
